Design and display
In terms of design, we can’t say anything new from the Cubot P30. With rounded edges, the set of cameras placed in the upper center of the back and a plastic frame in colors blue, black, green or pale pink; this 156, 6 x 74, 3 x 8, 1 mm smartphone brings us a generic design that’s not going to wow anyone, but it does its work.
For the screen, it’s another story. The 6.3-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution allows the Cubot P30 to maintain its brightness even under the sunlight and is also multitouch capable. So, you can get a pretty neat display ideal for gaming and high definition video viewing.
Performance and battery life
This smartphone is powered by the Mediatek Helio P23 MT6763 chipset. With Octa-Core 2.5GHz 64-bit, backed by 4GB RAM memory, 64GB ROM storage and an external memory capacity up to 128 GB, just like its cousin, the Cubot X19. Ideal for multiple tasks simultaneously, without giving us any trouble at all.
With the non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh battery, the Cubot P30 offers at least a day and a half of battery life without the need of charging the phone (maybe you could squeeze a few more hours if you manage your use wisely). So, in general, this smartphone present us a really good deal considering the surprisingly low budget.
At the back of the phone we can see the triple rear cameras set of 12 + 20 + 8 MP with 3968 x 2976 px, LED flash and auto – focus incorporated additionally to this features. Also the phone comes with a front camera of 8MP that can get us some nice selfies but with no frontal flash incorporated and not the best resolution, this camera isn’t ideal for night selfies. I would say that the rear cameras are pretty decent, especially at day. Not the best at night, just like the frontal camera.
Conclusion: Considering the price, this smartphone is a good deal.
The Cubot P30 has its ups and downs. One of the most attractive features of the Cubot P30 is the good performance and huge screen. Also we get a really good battery, so: less charging, more endurance. It has a few more features, like face ID and fingerprint recognition that gives it a plus but in terms of camera and design we don’t get much more than an “adequate performance”.
